Good Digital Cameras for Children
Children like to mimic adult action and activities. Taking photos is one of these activities. Digital cameras for children are usually made to be resilient and to withstand falls and accidents. Some of these cameras mirror the features of an adult digital camera, including additional software to manipulate and edit photos on a computer and video ports for photo viewing on television.
VTech Kidizoom Plus
VTech's Kidizoom Plus is a camera for children between the ages of three and nine years. Children can use the camera to take still images up to 2 megapixels of resolution, capture videos, edit photos and play games. With a built-in 256 megabytes of memory, the Kidizoom Plus can hold more than 500 photos or ten minutes of video. Additional memory from SD and SDHC memory cards can expand the camera's internal memory to 16 gigabytes. The Kidizoom Plus comes with a CD-ROM photo editor and cables for computer or TV connectivity.

Children ages six years and up may enjoy the special features of Digital Blue's U Turn Kids digital camera. With a 2.4-inch color TFT LCD screen and 12 real-time, on-screen, morphing filters, the U Turn camera lets children create silly, morphing pictures from real-time photos. With a 180-degree rotating lens, the U Turn camera enables one to capture a self portrait. This camera has limited storage up to 80 photos and does not support external memory. You can download pictures to a computer via USB cable, or view them on TV via a NTSC or PAL cable.
